With GRITS coming up soon, students have been preparing for our trip to Dalton. Our sub teams are busy integrating new members and focusing on the competition.
The Business team have been studying our Business Plan and uploading new social media posts. We have been prepping new students about judging and helping each other learn more about the history of our team. In beginner Programming, the students have been learning Java coding. They will now learn about coding on Android to help update the team scouting apps. Advanced Programming is working on improving autonomous routines.
The Electrical team has been doing touch up work since the robot’s electrical systems are in good condition. They have changed out the new radio from Worlds back to the pre-Worlds radio, since the new version will not work at GRITS. They have also remade the Orange Pi cover to prevent debris from getting in, done wire management, and assisted fabrication with disassembling and reassembling the shooter.
Speaking of the Fabrication sub team, they have been making improvements to the intake and shooter plates to make them more robust. Other tasks they are working on include building bumpers for the testbed and mounting the new radio on to the robot.
Last but not least, the Design team is resetting plates for shooter and intake as well as 3D printing various pieces. Like all the other sub teams, they have been busy get new members up to speed to take on new tasks. All in all, 1683 is ready for GRITS!
